Chocolate + Health: The Power of Chocolate

Finally! Something that tastes good might actually be good for you. A growing body of research suggests chocolate’s potential power as a "nutraceutical". Packed with high quality polyphenol antioxidants called flavanols, chocolate may slow the process of aging and reduce the risk of cancer and heart disease. In fact, the quality and quantity of antioxidants in dark chocolate is often even higher than tea and red wine. Chocolate has also been shown to have positive effects on cholesterol, protect against dementia, strokes and diabetes, and even help stop tooth decay!
