Small-holder farmers living along the Ucayali River grow the beans for this bar. They bring their harvest down the river, a major headwater of the Amazon, to be fermented and dried at Ucayali River Cacao's new facility. The results are consistently exceptional.

Tom and Monica Rogan experimented with chocolate for five years in their LA kitchen before deciding to change their lives. In 2010, Tom cashed out of his TV production company and they began to transition their hobby into their second career. They moved to a 225 year-old farm in Sudbury Massachusetts, and after converting one of the buildings to a chocolate kitchen, they started selling their single-origin bars in November 2016. They spend a lot of time on cacao farms throughout Latin America and have developed close relationships with the farmers who grow and harvest the most flavorful beans. These relationships have fostered investment in the grower communities and help improve farming and fermentation practices.
